Most traders blow up because of position size, not because of bad entries. A fixed risk per trade keeps a losing streak survivable.
Risking 1 % per trade means ten losses in a row cost about 9.6 %. At 5 % per trade, ten losses cost 40 %, and you need a 67 % gain to recover. For beginners 0.5 % is often wiser.
With a 200 account and 1 % risk, you risk only 2. A fee of 0.30 per round trip is 15 % of that risk. Compute the trade net: reward and risk both include fees. If fees exceed about 10 % of the risk, the trade is not worth taking.
Account 500, risk 1 % = 5. Entry 40.00, stop 39.00, fee 0.02 per share. Size = 5 / (1.00 + 0.02) = 4.9 shares. Position value 196, no leverage needed.
